VISION
Mother Rita Barcelo Caritas Center, inspired by the Lord Jesus, operates for the Service of Charity based on the Augustinian Marian ecclesial way of life.
Mission Statement
MRBCC is committed to:
- Coordinate with various departments and units in the development, modification, implementation, and evaluation of pastoral programs that support holistic development of learners as socially responsive stewards and prophetic witnesses for building Christian communities;
- Manage the development, improvement, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of projects and activities of the Program-based Community Welfare Services that address the needs of people in the partner communities;
- Maintain and/or intensify social orientation and community engagement programs that nurture a strong sense of volunteerism;
- Link with the University’s research and instruction in addressing critical issues important to developing resilient, sustainable, and smarter partner communities; and,
- Establish collaboration with stakeholders and civic organizations for human, professional, technical, and financial resource sharing.
Goals
- To develop or enhance the awareness and active involvement of students, personnel, alumni, and stakeholders in the University’s social orientation and community engagement programs;
- To facilitate services enabling beneficiaries to acquire knowledge, skills, and attitudes for enhancing their potentials and capabilities;
- To supervise the project and activities toward building basic ecclesial communities;
- To facilitate coordination with leaders and stakeholders on projects and activities of the Program-based Community Welfare Services;
- To develop or enhance innovative and non-traditional approaches in addressing the needs of pupils, students, and mature beneficiaries seeking continuing development;
- To offer technological and vocational training for livelihood programs;
- To supervise the sustainability and environmental education committee in promoting justice, peace, gender development, and care for the environment;
- To establish or intensify collaborations with universities, colleges, schools, LGUs, and NGOs both locally and internationally.
