COLLEGE OF ALLIED MEDICAL PROFESSIONS

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGY
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Tehnology (BSRT) at La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP) is a dynamic four‐year degree program committed to nurturing competent, ethical, and compassionate radiologic technologists grounded in Augustinian–Catholic values. Students receive an immersive mix of rigorous coursework in anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, imaging technology, radiological protection, and professional ethics, paired with substantial hands‐on clinical training within accredited hospitals and diagnostic centers.
The curriculum exposes learners to a broad spectrum of imaging modalities—general radiography (X‐ray), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasonography, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine. In addition, students gain foundational knowledge in interventional radiology and radiation therapy, preparing them for diverse specializations.
PROGRAM MISSION & VISION
Presented by LCUP’s College of Allied & Medical Professions (CAMP), the BSRT program embodies the university’s mission to produce healthcare professionals who exemplify the Augustinian values of unity, charity, truth, and service. Graduates are equipped not only with technical and clinical competence but also with moral integrity, leadership, and a commitment to community health – especially within Bulacan and beyond.
ACADEMIC & CLINICAL STRUCTURE
Structured to meet CHED and PRC guidelines for accreditation and licensure readiness.
- Level 1 – 3: Focused on theoretical instruction, laboratory skills, and professional ethics.
- Year 4: Full‐time clinical internship rotation in partnered hospitals, designed to refine students’ practical abilities under real-world conditions; in addition to regular in-house academic review t exact competence in the board licensure examination after graduation.
LICENSURE OUTCOMES & EXCELLENCE
Graduates are eligible to take the Radiologic Technologist Licensure Examination (RTLE) administered by the Professional Regulation Commission wherein the program has consistently produced licensed radiologic technologists higher than the national passing rates. Notably, LCUP achieved a 100% passing rate in the December 2022 RTLE, with one graduate securing 1st place nationally and four others recognized as topnotchers—highlighting the program’s effectiveness and academic strength.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- Demonstrate proficiency in diagnostic imaging procedures and radiation safety practices.
- Uphold professional standards in patient-focused care and ethical conduct.
- Exhibit early leadership abilities and adaptability in clinical settings.
- Commit to continuous professional development and lifelong learning.
- Engage in research initiatives and community health-related outreach.
CAREER PATHWAYS & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Upon licensure, graduates can explore a wide range of professional roles, including:
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (RRT) in hospitals, clinics, or imaging centers
- CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy specialist
- Roles in interventional radiology or PACS/RIS administration
- Academic instructor or clinical educator
- Radiation safety officer, researcher, or consultant in imaging technology domains
LCUP’s Augustinian tradition and regional presence foster radiologic technologists who not only lead technically but also serve with compassion, integrity, and excellence.
