BACHELOR OF ARTS IN COMMUNICATION ARTS
The BACHELOR OF ARTS (B.A.) IN COMMUNICATIONS program is designed to offer a well-rounded education with an emphasis in the field of media and communications. The program is anchored on giving students a comprehensive view and nuanced understanding of the role of media and communication in society as well as media's immense power and influence in to platforms and provides hands-on experience in the areas of journalism, photography, advertising, public relations, media planning and management, broadcasting, scriptwriting, production design, directing and development communication among others. The learner-centered and outcomes-based pedagogies applied in the program engage students to think critically about global issues and analyze them from all dimensions: societal, cultural, historical, political, economic, technological and legal. The BA in Communication program seeks to educate students to be responsive to the fast-paced, ever changing professional environment of mass media. Its goal is to produce graduates who are independent and responsible professional communicators capable of critically and creatively producing media messages for various groups in an increasingly global society. Moreover, the program is grounded in the rich tapestry of Marian-Augustinian values. These core principles, characterized by key values such as interiority, humility, compassion, community-orientedness, missionary spirit and faith serve as the foundation of the curriculum as well as holistic student development. By integrating these values into the program, students do not only become skilled communicators but also compassionate, ethical and socially responsible individuals who contribute meaningfully to society.
