LCUP carries out clustered face-to-face Commencement Exercises for its Basic Education students

June 6 - 8, 2022

After two consecutive years of conducting virtual commencement exercises due to the restrictions of CoViD-19, the La Consolacion University Philippines – Basic Education Department (LCUP-BED) once again opened its doors to conduct clustered face-to-face Graduation Ceremony for Early Childhood Education (ECE), Grade six pupils, and Grade 12 Senior High School students as well as Moving-Up Ceremony for Grade 10 students, June 11-17, 2022 at the Atis Hall, BarCIE International Center, La Consolacion University Philippines – City of Malolos, Bulacan.

A total of 1,678 BED students received their diplomas and awards comprised of; 11 ECE pupils, 44 Grade six pupils, 104 Grade 10 students, 254 Grade 12 Accountancy and Business Management (ABM) students, 651 Grade 12 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) students, 293 Grade 12 Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) students, 266 Grade 12 Humanities and Social Science (HUMSS) students, 55 Grade 12 General Academic Strand (GAS) students, and 48 Grade 12 Arts and Design Appreciation and Production (AD) students.

Although Bulacan remains under CoViD-19 alert level 1, where limited face-to-face gatherings are allowed under the strict implementation of health protocols, major preparations were still made by the University prior to holding the said series of ceremonies to ensure the safety of the students, which included securing permissions from and compliance of requirements to the Department of Education (DepEd), distribution of consent forms to parents/guardians of the students, and tidying-up facilities in the campus that will be used for the distribution of togas and during the actual programs. Moreover, graduating students were given a virtual orientation through a YouTube live broadcast to discuss the guideline on face-to-face graduation and to give way to additional queries from parents and students.

A Virtual Recognition Rites was held for awardees from Nursery, Grades 1-6 Elementary pupils, Grades 7-10 Junior High School students, and Grades 11-12 Senior High School students on June 8, 2022, through Facebook and YouTube live. In addition, a Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated on June 6, 2022, participated by selected students from the Basic Education Department at the Chapel of Our Lady of Consolacion and aired live for students and parents at home
