The La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP) has once again proven its dedication to enhancing the quality of higher education through research as it hosted the 2nd LCUP-GE&RA International Web Conference in collaboration with its India-based non-government organization partner Globus Education and Research Association (GE&RA). The conference, with its theme "Internationalization and Extension of Educational Institutions Through Innovative and Emancipatory Researches Amidst the Current Challenges of Globalization and Technological Divide," was held on April 29 and 30, 2022, via Facebook live, YouTube live, StreamYard, and Google Meet.

The said research conference was spearheaded to get together and open doors for potential futuristic approaches that will play a significant role in synchronizing the enhancement of the quality of higher education with the emerging technology. The global pandemic's current situation, which caused the world to rely more on the internet and other online modalities, fueled the said objective of the conference.

The conference was officially opened by Dr. Mark Rey Santos, LCUP OIC-VP for Research, Publications, & Linkages. Moreover, guests, presenters, and viewers were warmly welcomed by Sr. Editha S. Zerna, OSA, LCUP University President, while Dr. Puneet Kumar Agarwal, President & Chairman of GE&RA, gave his Presidential Address. Keynote and Guest Speakers were introduced by Sr. Mary Sheba Principe, OSA, the VP for Spiritual Formation and Extension Services, and Prof. Marissa Ventura, the VP for Finance and Administrative Services. and were felicitated by Dr. Enrico F. Rosales, LCUP VP for Graduate Studies and Prof. Maria Isabel Guevara, Executive Secretary to the LCUP University President. Conference Director Dr. Nidhi Agarwal gave a brief discussion of what the conference is about.

The 2nd LCUP-GE&RA International Web Conference was graced by keynote speakers, namely Dr. Sonjaya Singh Gaur from NYU School of Professional Studies New York University (NYU), Dr. Theresita V. Atienza, President of Quezon City University, and Dr. Gagan Kukreja Associate Professor, Dept. of Accounting College of Business Administration University of Bahrain who shared their knowledge and expertise. There were guest speakers from different countries as well, namely Dr. Aftab Alam, Dr. Ruchika Gupta, and Dr. Vinod Dumblekar from India, Dr. Deepak Waikar from Singapore, Mr. Lonell R. Childred from the USA, our very own Dr. Mark Rey Santos from the Philippines, and Dr. Enkeleda Lulaj from Kosovo, who discussed various timely topics focusing on the theme and sub-themes of the conference.

During the two-day conference, which encompassed six parallel sessions – three sessions each day with each session having a different subtheme, 55 research were presented from the Philippines and India. An awarding ceremony was held towards the end of the second day for the Best Papers and Best Presenters. There are two research papers that were hailed as best papers and six participants as Best Presenters. It was Sr. Editha S. Zerna, OSA, Ph.D., LCUP University President who announced the winners. The conference was concluded by the summary report of Dr. Jocelyn Hipona, the conference convenor, and the words of gratitude from Dr. Janet Valdez, the conference host.

The conference was organized through a committee led by the Research, Publications, and Linkages Office headed by Dr. Mark Rey Santos with sub-unit heads Dr. Janet Valdez (Research), Ms. Via Galman (Publications), and Ms. Cathy Raymundo (Linkages) with the efforts of Ms. Ronamel Cruz, Secretary to the VP-RPL as well. The organizing committee involved several departments, namely the Office of the University President and Vice-Presidents, Marketing and Promotions Office, Finance and Administrative Services, Management Information Systems Office, and University Building Maintenance Services Office.

It was on June 4, 2021, when LCUP and GE&RA ventured into a partnership towards research collaborations through the organization of international conferences and the publication of research. It was tied up through a virtual MOU signing and organized its first International Web Conference on July 23-24, 2021.
