LCUP CONDUCTS IN-SERVICE TRAINING 2022

August 16-19, 2022



The Office of the University President, in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and Human Resource and Development Office, hosted a four-day In-Service Training (InSeT) 2022, August 16-19, 2022, via Zoom meeting. The aim of the said InSeT is to prepare the teaching, academic support, and non-teaching personnel for the academic year 2022-2023 and further develop institutional instructional effectiveness,

Day 1 covered sessions 1-6 on Quality and Excellent Services in Instruction, Research, Extension, and Production. The day started with a reorientation of the LCUP Vision-Mission-Goals, Objectives, and Core Values by Sr. Mary Sheba O. Principe, OSA – VP for Spiritual Formation and Extension. Updates on Human Resource and Development were discussed by Ms. Ruth R. Malabiga – HRD Director. It was followed by a short research productivity incentives discussion by Dr. Mark Rey C. Santos – VP for Research, Publications, and Linkages. Prof. Gerald Lester A. Caoili – Chair of the Research Ethics Committee, also provided an orientation on Research Ethics. Dr. Jay Mark B. Santos – Assitant to the VPAA, presented the LCUP Teaching and Learning Institutional Plan Sustaining Flexible Learning. Lastly, Prof. Roody Angelo SR. Juan – Extension Unit Director, discussed the LCUP Community Extension Activities and Programs.

Day 2 covered sessions 7-10 on the Utilization of Virtual Teaching Applications. Mr. Ezekiel D. Rodriguez – Marketing and Promotions Office Director, discussed Utilizing Technology-Assisted Methodologies and Online Applications and Tools in Teaching. It was followed by Ms. Catherine Ferrer – College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) faculty, who presented Creativity, and Organization in Online Classroom. A discussion on Online Teaching and Learning with Microsoft 365 was given by Mr. Florante Reyes – Management and Information System Director. Mr. Wilfred Sarmiento, the Subject Area Coordinator for Computer, Basic Education Department, made a webinar echo on HyFlex Learning Environment.

Day 3 covered sessions 11 and 12, which focused on discussions regarding Health Matters. It included Occupational Health and Safety, discussed by Mr. Ezekiel D. Rodriguez, and Mental Health Awareness and Support for Teachers, discussed by Dr. Eugene Hontiveros – Professional Lecturer in Graduate Studies Department. Synthesis for Days 1 and 2 was provided by Dr. Rosalyn S. Galvez – Student Affairs and Services Director.

Day 4 covered sessions 13 and 14 on Teaching and Learning Instructional Materials, Test Development, and Student Engagement. A discussion on the Changes that We Need in Post-Covid Education was given by Dr. Joseline M. Santos, Assistant Director for Teaching and Learning Technologies, and Graduate School Director for Research, Extension, and Publication at Bulacan State University. It was followed by the discussion on the Table of Specifications and Test Development by Dr. Mark Rey C. Santos
